Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications do you look for in a candidate?
Any successful candidate will be an organized and enthusiastic team player with the ability to work independently. A "Can-Do" attitude and a strong work ethic are a must.

What do you require of your team members?
All of our properties are open five days a week, Monday through Friday. Being available for appointments and emergencies after regular office hours may be required. All of our on-site team members are required to follow uniform guidelines. All team members are provided with polo and other shirts with the company logo. In some cases, the Property Manager may live on-site.

How would you describe your company culture?
Every employee in our company is viewed as an important team member, with each person contributing in a unique way to the success of our organization. Weekly property reviews, during which the Regional Team Leader meets with the on-site team, helps to support this atmosphere and provide a forum where every team member can contribute to the property’s and company’s success. To relieve stress and motivate team members, several contests are held in which Regional Team Leader’s teams work together to improve their properties’ financial performance. Company events, such as picnics and holiday parties, also contribute to the supportive atmosphere that characterizes our company.

How long do I have to work for Focus Commercial to be considered for a promotion?
We evaluate team members based on results, not seniority. There are several tools we use to evaluate results, including monthly graphs that compare income and expenses to budgeted goals and Property Performance Reviews. We value consistent performance, outstanding customer service, and exceeding company goals.

What specific markets is Focus Commercial targeting for continual expansion?
Focus Commercial monitors the 15-20 major western U.S. cities for market opportunity. We focus on markets with populations greater than 200,000 people and identify markets with strong employment and economic growth historically and more importantly forecasted.
